CHAINED DOWN

Currently sitting in Charlotte airport waiting for my flight to board. Any airport that has free wifi automatically makes me overexcited and not totally dreading the next 24 hours of travelling.... so right now I'm a non-dreading over-excited wierdo uploading pictures of herself at the gate, nothing new...

Anyways, as always, I freak out in the last 24 hours of any holiday and/or break I'm on, and end up getting in a wierd creative fluster where I finish all the mini projects I meant to attempt earlier. So, this Christmas break, as opposed to making a shitty feather necklace that will break after one wear (exhibit A.) I fixed literally a PILE of necklaces where the chains had broken.

So with pliers in my hands and loads of left over chain, what's a girl to do? DIY IT, DUH.
It just so happened that I had this cool rock I kept from the beach this summer (I'm wierd like that, deal with it) I thought I had just the right idea what do with it, and if I may so myself, it turned out pretty magical...
I'm pretty chuffed with how it turned out. The last bit of the chain is doubled up and then doubled up again (...quadrupled?) so it hangs further of the chain. the black/silvery chain only cost me like four bucks, so I think some more of these DIY missions need to be taken on!

Here's another thing I did, not as sweet as the former, but I digress...
It was just a little rock/crystal/thing I had on a keychain from when I was little, and I found it while I was clearing out my room. Anyways, thought it would find a better home on a chain so I could wear it, the result being...
obvz, both of these necklaces look like I'm some hippy/witch/fortune-teller, but I kind of like it. If I ever need to hypnotize someone I can just grab my necklace.

FASHIONABLE AND FUNCTIONAL.... right?

YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE

Did yet another GoodWill haul before I leave, and can safely say I am satisfied (although will probably still go again before I head back to Europe). I swear that if I bought the exact same things I got today in any Dublin vintage stores it would be AT LEAST just over 70 euro, and considering that everything I got today cost a grand (not-so-grand) total of 19 dollars, I'm a pretty happy ladeeeeee. Purchases were as follows;

lace up ankle boots - three dollah y'all! Which means I won't feel guilty when I attack them with my freshly delivered order of studs...
black Levi's jeans - to be cut, durr.
blue Levi's mom shorts - to be cut, double durr.
Ralph Lauren Men's plaid shirt - just an oversized version of the one I got in the exact same GoodWill last year, basically what I wear when I'm not very enthused...

I realize how lame this picture looks now... but it was the only picture where I didn't have club feet or that the shoezzz weren't shrouded in a shadow of doom, so deal with it. Plus, OH EMMM GEEEE, look at my guitar, I'm so cool etc. etc. :)

This outfit is nothing special, my family and I just headed out for my sister's birthday, we went to see INCEPTION, which was pretty amazing, but it wasn't as crazy confusing as everyone was saying. Personally my fav. bit about it was how the fog-horn-y sounding music throughout the movie was actually Edith Piaf's "Non, je ne regrette rien" slowed down a couple hundered times, something that I enjoy geeking out about, then again, I just enjoy geeking out in general...
And speaking of that check out this. It's Justin Bieber's "U smile" slowed down 800%, personally whenever a song uses text speak in it (e.g. Avril Lavigne's GOLDEN hit, "Sk8r Boi") I generally try to avoid it, but this 36-minute form of BIEBER FEVER is just like one big epic event getting all up in your ears, jus sayin, that shit just got real...

PLEAD FOR PLEATS

So basically, went to GoodWill last week, and got three things a dress, a skirt, and a bag, all three of which I plan on boring you with. But this post is purely dedicated to the skirt I got. Anyways, it's a pleated calf-length skirt with a polka dot print, and though mid-calf length is all the rage bla bleh bla...

it is not flattering.
Whatsoever.
At all.

So with my mind-blowing seamstress skillz I decided I would just alter it to a nice high waisted skirt, simples. It was pretty easy to sew, the only annoying bit being having to iron every single pleat back in, because the thread was quite stiff.
But that's pretty much the end of the saga, went to Target today and wore it out for the first time...

If I wasn't a WUSS, I would have worn it like this...

...but I am a WUSS, so I didn't. Perhaps next time. I srsly need to grow some balls, metaphorically, duh.
//LE FIN//

look forward to Parts 2 + 3 of this GoodWill saga...

BACKLOG MEGAMIXXX

Apologies for being a bad, bad, bad, blogger, and not being very, um... punctual? Anyways, I've developed this insane backlog of vain little photo-booth sessionz that I had planned to share with you on separate blogging occasions, but because I am such a shit/smelly/inconsistent blogger, I am presenting them to you in this super-amazing-mind-blowing MEGAMIXXX Y'ALL...

//FIRSTLY//
Thanks to a Christmas money fueled Wallmart shop, I made my own necklace. Just bought a packet of coloured feathers and hot glued them to a piece of black felt, then glued them to a spare chain I had. Pretty sweet, non? It reminds me of like Zelda or something. Anyways, I let my sister wear it out to dinner, and I wore it the next day, so by now like literally all the feathers except the two orange ones have broken in half. What a bummer, so easy to just keep replacing them though...

//SECONDLY//
I'm confused, blatantly.
Got a new red lipstick, this one is super bright, so I think I'll be wearing this more in the day than my other deeper red one. It's from the new Maybelline line of the pigment stuff, I bought the matching lip liner as well, just cos I'd never used liner before and I wanted to see if it made a difference. The only difference it does is making me feel like a Mexican Lolita before I put the lipstick on!
I also went into this hippie store the other day, came out with this sweet 'healing' necklace, I just got it because it's cool quartzite, I think you can just see it in the first pictue. I don't really believe in the 'powers' or whatevssss, but here's what it says on the back anyway, and I quote...

"This stone has strong mystical powers of healing and is excellent for unblocking negative energy. A deep soul cleanser, energy amplifier, enhancing physic abilities (yada yadaaa)
Use this gemstone as it has been used in ages past to aid you in focusing on your dreams and goals"
Oh Lolza.

//THIRDLY//
Went to see Avatar in 3d today, it was pretty sweet, although the two guys in-front of us smelled SO badly of weed! My mum even said, "Does someone smell skunk?", like literally meaning the animal, no slang, just a small critter, it was funny at the time... anyways, just wanted a chance to show off my new Docs, although it isn't great quality, I was wearing these white socks poking up above them as well. I think the next picture is a bit Lady Gagz remeniscent, no? The crotch shot TOTES is, wot? wot?

//LASTLY//
New year's resolution, you ask?
Trying to learn to do my eye make-up like this babe at chicheroin

A POOR MAN'S COMBAT

Literally just ordered some new shoes off forever21, mon oncle treated, well, it is Christmas after all! I'm pretty excited, they're just like a knock off of the a/w 10 burberry prorsum boots with like a full ankle brace and all, ha!
I actually want to take a moment to just worship burberry shoes for a minute. They're actually always so good, looking back on them, I think it's just the styling that really makes them so good, season after season, no matter what shoe, the shoes are without fail, styled with thick, chunky, socks.
Can't wait for my shoezzz to arrive now, I'll be stocking up on some nice thick socks to wear them with from Target right after I drool all over the Rodarte for Target collection (I die, right?) anyways... spot the fake...
In other news, I've obsessively started knitting in the past... let me check... um, 24 hours...? I've been doing some research trying to find a good enough pattern for a cape/poncho, and even bought one on the internet for some er, market research? Anywho...

Hopefully by the end of my Christmas holidays I'll develop some mad knitting skillz, and eventually be able to knit this cape, like, walking uphill, upside down, and asleep, duh.

SLASH ME SLAYER

I watched the original 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' over summer, and I don't know why, but it's stuck in my head for ages. Not like it's that an inspirational of a movie.... anyways, here's the sitch....

Went shopping today and managed to somehow restrain myself to only buying in the sale section (good job Tara, good job). anyways, went wearing my Weekdays top, which I'm guessing only has a life time of about one more month considering that I live in it at the moment, and my mom shorts (only 2 dollah at the goodwill, sometimes life is soooo sweet...)
dunno why I thought this would be a good pose...

So basically, the achievement of the day was this sweet trompe l'oeil top from Urban Outfitters. When you wear it, it doesn't look that trick of the eye-y, but still a pretty cool print.
It's got these amazing bat wing sleeves as well, you can see the light come through.
I feel very Swedish when I wear it, and believe me friends, feeling Swedish is a good thing...

Trying and FAILing to keep up this whole "i'm flexible" theme...

I wore this necklace I made/collected over the summer. It's a bunch of ring-pulls on a chain. Sounds wierd, but when they're all grouped together it looks pretty sweet, if I may so myself... I may. and I do.

Bought some random stuff too. A bracelet, plain crop top, sunglasses (even though it's going into like October.. ooops...) Almost bought a pair of wanna-be Doc Martens in H & M as well, resisted though. I SRSLY need to get some Doc Martens soon, before I die/implode/cry/become-a-mongoose etc.

P.S. sozzz for the shortage on posts guys, I know I get really annoyed when the blogs I follow kinda randomly slow down. Not to be an excuse-maker, but me excuse is.... haha.... I live in school so there's no internet (it hurts, believe me...). I'll promise I'll make it up to you though, I'll send you a virtual cake, no, a virtual horse on FarmVille, better yet, I'll join your Mafia, no? fine then....

slayters. x.

ACID WASHED HAIR

I GOT A HAIRCUT! it should be exciting except for the fact that I really had no choice, I hadn't cut my hair in a year (a whole year? SRSLY? yesss.... I'm fo realz.) my hair was all fine and dandy except for like the last two inches which looked literally like they had been set on fire. I didn't really want to get that much off, cos I was starting to like the length of my hair and my fringe that I'm trying to grow out etc. etc. She cut my fringe a bit, and now it's just back to the awkward "poke-you-in-the-eyes" length it's been for the past six months :s
At the salon, I was LOLing over how many times Taylor Momsen was in all the haircut magazines, and thinking how many people tried to copy it, turns out my haircut just looks like a bad imitation of it, but I didn't mean in to, I SWEAR. ha.

aaaaaaaaaaanyways... I've been rampaging on the DIY front recently, to get all my projects done before school starts (next week, fudruckers!). So I GOT MY PERMIT YESTERDAY (!) and as a prize for being so great/skilled etc. etc. I got a big tub of bleach, your probs thinking, waat? But I wanted to try to bleach a few plain Hanes tees I've had for ages, and then if it worked out well I'd try my black jeans.

So, I'm officially being initiated into the world of cliched bloggers. I present you my DIY jeans, but note that I keep the talk of Balmain low, ha!
Like ma shoes? Believe it or not they're American Eagle, they were on sale, I couldn't resist. I think the jeans worked really well, I might slit the knees though, or even stud a bit, like those really overdone Topshop jeans, you know the ones...? no? right, then....

I also acid-washed two t-shirts, this is the one that turned out better. I think I'll end up cutting it up to tank top or something.

I cut this long grey top as well. It's sort of a long crop top length now. I like.

Went to Target for a last minute shop before we leave for Ireland. Got a new schoolbag in the form of a really sturdy rectangular handbag. This will definitely be going under neath the stud-knife... Also got this amazing felt bowler hat with some feathers. A hat is a definite need in the Irish winter, I must protect my hair from the rain. at. all. times. I just need to figure out a way to get it to stay on in the wind, why helloooooo booby tape, ha!

I'll leave you with this little gem (err, not.) PEACE MOFOS.

I WAS A DANCER ALL ALONG

Just spent about a solid hour lusting over the WEEKDAY website. Either I'm really stupid, or else um... what's the second option. NVM, yeah but I can't seem to find an online shopping part on it, so I assumed that it's just a catalogue and you have to buy the clothes.... but wait... there's only WEEKDAY stores in Sweden... SRSLY... srsly? The Swedes already have Alex Skarsgard, and now they try to offend me this way???

Yeah, well my sister got a $0.07 flight to Stockholm a few months ago to visit her friend, and came back with this top for my birthday. It looks plain, but is really chic with pretty much anything, sssssspecially my biker jacket. The tag on it says "MTWTFSS" which I (verrrry dumbly) took to be a Swedish word, but it's just all the letters from the days (weekdays, gettit?) yep... ooops on that bit.
I also really loved these T-shirts as a weird take on fashion house logos.... thought I recognized them though.. and turned out I did. Carolina from FashionSquad actually modeled them for a lookbook. This is from Weekday's extended collection

Next up were these beauties of an excuse for a shoe. But they kind of looked familiar..... duh! At this stage I'm feeling kind of jealous/bitter/slow. But still... amazing shoes. Minimarket boots.

And these two items are kind of making me want to dress up in a complete khaki ensemble, and I'm not really sure how that makes me feel. Perhaps like a Gap Whore, but I bet wearing them both together would feel nice and complete.

So... anyone from Sweden want to post the entire inventory of the WEEKDAY store, KayThnks.
