DREE

It's Ms. Hemingway's fault that i'm seriously considering the dip-dyed-hair
and sunglasses-over-fringe look.

A POOR MAN'S COMBAT

Literally just ordered some new shoes off forever21, mon oncle treated, well, it is Christmas after all! I'm pretty excited, they're just like a knock off of the a/w 10 burberry prorsum boots with like a full ankle brace and all, ha!
I actually want to take a moment to just worship burberry shoes for a minute. They're actually always so good, looking back on them, I think it's just the styling that really makes them so good, season after season, no matter what shoe, the shoes are without fail, styled with thick, chunky, socks.
Can't wait for my shoezzz to arrive now, I'll be stocking up on some nice thick socks to wear them with from Target right after I drool all over the Rodarte for Target collection (I die, right?) anyways... spot the fake...
In other news, I've obsessively started knitting in the past... let me check... um, 24 hours...? I've been doing some research trying to find a good enough pattern for a cape/poncho, and even bought one on the internet for some er, market research? Anywho...

Hopefully by the end of my Christmas holidays I'll develop some mad knitting skillz, and eventually be able to knit this cape, like, walking uphill, upside down, and asleep, duh.

BERRY LIPS AND NARROW HIPS

This cut-out from a magazine has been on my wall for a few weeks now. It's Rachel Weisz at the MET gala last year.

Firstly: (heh heh) she's wearing this amaaaaaaazing Vera Wang gown, you can see the tiny flash of yellow that's underneath it, it's got this amazing bodice back to it as well.

And Secondly: Her lips are amazing! So being the unoriginal person I am, this inspired me to go search for a brownish-red lip stain, sounds gross in theory, but it worked out, believe me...
oh the joys of Photobooth...

I found a really nice kind of waxy Mabeylline lipstick, guess what it's called, that's right... "crazy plum" hollah! There's something I really like about tacky names for colours, they make me really happy or something.

for example dear friends: One of my friends has red hair, so we matched her hair colour to a paint swatch (a la Henry Holland, no?) so now whenever we refer to her hair we must call it "Autumnal Fiery Sunset" pretty sweet, jah?

Just to prove my point...

SLASH ME SLAYER

I watched the original 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' over summer, and I don't know why, but it's stuck in my head for ages. Not like it's that an inspirational of a movie.... anyways, here's the sitch....

Went shopping today and managed to somehow restrain myself to only buying in the sale section (good job Tara, good job). anyways, went wearing my Weekdays top, which I'm guessing only has a life time of about one more month considering that I live in it at the moment, and my mom shorts (only 2 dollah at the goodwill, sometimes life is soooo sweet...)
dunno why I thought this would be a good pose...

So basically, the achievement of the day was this sweet trompe l'oeil top from Urban Outfitters. When you wear it, it doesn't look that trick of the eye-y, but still a pretty cool print.
It's got these amazing bat wing sleeves as well, you can see the light come through.
I feel very Swedish when I wear it, and believe me friends, feeling Swedish is a good thing...

Trying and FAILing to keep up this whole "i'm flexible" theme...

I wore this necklace I made/collected over the summer. It's a bunch of ring-pulls on a chain. Sounds wierd, but when they're all grouped together it looks pretty sweet, if I may so myself... I may. and I do.

Bought some random stuff too. A bracelet, plain crop top, sunglasses (even though it's going into like October.. ooops...) Almost bought a pair of wanna-be Doc Martens in H & M as well, resisted though. I SRSLY need to get some Doc Martens soon, before I die/implode/cry/become-a-mongoose etc.

P.S. sozzz for the shortage on posts guys, I know I get really annoyed when the blogs I follow kinda randomly slow down. Not to be an excuse-maker, but me excuse is.... haha.... I live in school so there's no internet (it hurts, believe me...). I'll promise I'll make it up to you though, I'll send you a virtual cake, no, a virtual horse on FarmVille, better yet, I'll join your Mafia, no? fine then....

ACID WASHED HAIR

I GOT A HAIRCUT! it should be exciting except for the fact that I really had no choice, I hadn't cut my hair in a year (a whole year? SRSLY? yesss.... I'm fo realz.) my hair was all fine and dandy except for like the last two inches which looked literally like they had been set on fire. I didn't really want to get that much off, cos I was starting to like the length of my hair and my fringe that I'm trying to grow out etc. etc. She cut my fringe a bit, and now it's just back to the awkward "poke-you-in-the-eyes" length it's been for the past six months :s
At the salon, I was LOLing over how many times Taylor Momsen was in all the haircut magazines, and thinking how many people tried to copy it, turns out my haircut just looks like a bad imitation of it, but I didn't mean in to, I SWEAR. ha.

aaaaaaaaaaanyways... I've been rampaging on the DIY front recently, to get all my projects done before school starts (next week, fudruckers!). So I GOT MY PERMIT YESTERDAY (!) and as a prize for being so great/skilled etc. etc. I got a big tub of bleach, your probs thinking, waat? But I wanted to try to bleach a few plain Hanes tees I've had for ages, and then if it worked out well I'd try my black jeans.

So, I'm officially being initiated into the world of cliched bloggers. I present you my DIY jeans, but note that I keep the talk of Balmain low, ha!
Like ma shoes? Believe it or not they're American Eagle, they were on sale, I couldn't resist. I think the jeans worked really well, I might slit the knees though, or even stud a bit, like those really overdone Topshop jeans, you know the ones...? no? right, then....

I also acid-washed two t-shirts, this is the one that turned out better. I think I'll end up cutting it up to tank top or something.

I cut this long grey top as well. It's sort of a long crop top length now. I like.

Went to Target for a last minute shop before we leave for Ireland. Got a new schoolbag in the form of a really sturdy rectangular handbag. This will definitely be going under neath the stud-knife... Also got this amazing felt bowler hat with some feathers. A hat is a definite need in the Irish winter, I must protect my hair from the rain. at. all. times. I just need to figure out a way to get it to stay on in the wind, why helloooooo booby tape, ha!

I'll leave you with this little gem (err, not.) PEACE MOFOS.

FAUX FEET

I hate to be a copy cat, but when I saw these at Fur Coat, No Knickers' blog I couldn't help myself...

I never really like espadrilles, I think they're kind of lazy, like wearing slippers around in public (none to different from uggs... ew.) But these are amazing! Trompe l'oeil shoes, can it get any better than that! Although I don't think they'd really hold up in Dublin's rainy weather, they'd be amazing for the next last few weeks of my summer.

How many times have I said 'amazing' in this blog... hm? ooops....
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!

CROOKED CROWN

Finally finished my driver's ed. today (thank God) so Mum and I went to the Mint Museum in Charlotte to check out this temporary exhibition, "The Art of Afluence: Haute Couture" which was basically a bunch of dresses donated, must were from the eighties so it was pretty lol-tastic to see the Versace 'night-dress' inspired gown etc. There was actually a Balenciaga suit donated by Hubert De Givenchy though, thought that was pretty cool.

The exhibition was kind of mediocre though, it was only one room and there was this lady in khaki pants explaining every outfit and why she didn't like to an eight year old, that commentary was pretty worth it. My favourite quote was, "See how the blouse has a puffed sleeve? Now I don't think that works well. Have you ever heard this phrase before? See, she's not wearing the blouse, the blouse is wearing her..." the 'her' was a headless mannequin, so I don't think it really had the emmmm, personalit
y (?) to 'wear' the clothes. I'm pretty sure this was in reference to a John Galliano white blouse.

But the best part in my opinion was the gift shop, Mom and I were trying on all these wierd half-face-masks and I was so tempted to buy loads for some photo props, ha! In the end I found this toy crown, I love it! I was wearing it all day, and it kind of got me in the mood to write a song, so now I've deemed it as my thinking cap!

Wearing it made me feel like Max from Where The Wild Things Are, now all I need is a catsuit, and not the Pam Hogg type...
I'm actually so excited for Where The Wild Things Are words cannot describe. I've watched the trailer at least five times on youtube, and once right before seeing Harry Potter 6, and every single time, I've cried. It might be because the song is Wake Up by Arcade Fire, and that's just like this unbelievable epic/euphoric song, I was trying to explain to my parents how certain songs make you feel um, 'infinite' (Perks of Being a Wallflower, duh) and they both just thought I was really inarticulate/crazy.

Anyways.... Karen O is doing the score for the entire movie as well, so it's ozzzley going to be unbelievable, also the wonderful Spike Jonze is directing it. So I think I can come to the conclusion that this is my dream movie.

That is all.

I WAS A DANCER ALL ALONG

Just spent about a solid hour lusting over the WEEKDAY website. Either I'm really stupid, or else um... what's the second option. NVM, yeah but I can't seem to find an online shopping part on it, so I assumed that it's just a catalogue and you have to buy the clothes.... but wait... there's only WEEKDAY stores in Sweden... SRSLY... srsly? The Swedes already have Alex Skarsgard, and now they try to offend me this way???

Yeah, well my sister got a $0.07 flight to Stockholm a few months ago to visit her friend, and came back with this top for my birthday. It looks plain, but is really chic with pretty much anything, sssssspecially my biker jacket. The tag on it says "MTWTFSS" which I (verrrry dumbly) took to be a Swedish word, but it's just all the letters from the days (weekdays, gettit?) yep... ooops on that bit.
I also really loved these T-shirts as a weird take on fashion house logos.... thought I recognized them though.. and turned out I did. Carolina from FashionSquad actually modeled them for a lookbook. This is from Weekday's extended collection

Next up were these beauties of an excuse for a shoe. But they kind of looked familiar..... duh! At this stage I'm feeling kind of jealous/bitter/slow. But still... amazing shoes. Minimarket boots.

And these two items are kind of making me want to dress up in a complete khaki ensemble, and I'm not really sure how that makes me feel. Perhaps like a Gap Whore, but I bet wearing them both together would feel nice and complete.

So... anyone from Sweden want to post the entire inventory of the WEEKDAY store, KayThnks.

GOODWILL + CHOCOLATE COOKIES

These are pictures from a week ago when my sister, mum and I went to goodwill, outfit was kinda simple, but it was so I could try everything on, functional, ya know? haha. I was just excited to wear my loafers, haven't worn them since school (they're my school shoes!) but I way prefer wearing them with jeans and stuff, especially my diy-ed topshop jeans. aaaanyways...
Found this fleece cape upstairs that Mum wears in the winter, and I really liked it (I've been looking for a cheaper version of the American Apparel winter cape, it's so expensive! Anyways.. took a few creeper shots, looks a bit like a rape cape when you peek just above your shoulder....

On another note I've been NOMing on cookies all day. Mum literally had to hide the second box of Chips Ahoy cos I just kept coming back for more, mmmmmm so good :s

P.S. I think I cheated.... my friend really wanted me to watch Harper's Island, so I watched three episodes, then just bored so I just watched the last ten minutes of the last episode... OOOOPS

P.P.S. did you know that you can watch full episodes of shows on CBS? amazing.

BRB; HAVING A KSTEW HAIR MOMENT

I've been trying to grow out a middle parting (much to the distaste of pretty much everyone I know) in the attempt to eventually have luscious, long, brown, middle parted hair. So far not looking so great considering my hair is Splitzville, USA. ANYWAY... it's at a really awkward length right now and I've kind of been subconsciously messing with it, resulting in a KSTEW situation, which does not look all that great...
(I apologize for the obligatory pout)

If you've watched any interviews of Kirsten Stewart on youtube, it's pretty much impossible to not pick up on her constant head scratching and changing her parting every ten seconds, and if you know me you've probs seen my imitation of KSTEW like a zzzzzillion times, involving too much blinking and slowly brushing hair back with a claw hand, don't get me wrong, KSTEW can act/blink as much as the next professional teen actress. Behind all the mocking, I secretly love her....

BUTTT She recently cut her hair for the new Runaways movie that's filming. She's playing Joan Jett, and had to get the haircut to match; DO NOT WANT.
gossipteen (<- lol)

aaaand these photos from the recent Comic Con in San Diego, do not do anything for her... I think she came straight from shooting though, or I hope so, it's the only excuse for looking like that...
YO KSTEW!!! YOUR HAIR = DO NOT WANT, PLZ.

METAL PETALS

My sister, mom, and I went to the mall today, hit up the yuush ya know? like American Apparel, Urban Outfitters :P cos we're cool, yeah? I just spent the whole day looking for stuff to pair with all the swag I got yesterday thrifting.

I got a few short t-shirts to wear with my DIYed mom shorts, this floral print one is going to be worn LOTS for the rest of the summer, and in the winter because it fits quite well with my woolen blazer, thank you very much...
blazer, thrifted; shorts, thrifted; floral top, UO; nekclace, Marc by Marc Jacobs

And to add to the excitement, if that's at all possible... I GOT A GLOCKENSPEIL!!!! Mother agreed to getting one, but a few hours later when I was messing around on it, I think she may have regretted her decision a little bit...

There was also this amazing range of t-shirts that were between crop top and proper t-shirt lenghth in Urban Outfitters, called Hometown Heroes, not sure if it's a collab. or just another diffusion line of Urban's, must do some more research into them. The prints were all amazing, I took ages to decide which one I wanted. There was this one that had London written on it but as Lon, Don, and I read em..... phonetically? My sister couldn't stop laughing at that... ooops.
I also got this American Apparel leotard, to be worn underneath high waisted shorts, duh! I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to wear it on it's own.... I love the back though, recently I keep looking for stuff with a bit of show-off back.

I think for the first time in ages I'm actually really excited about my wardrobe, and might actually be, what's the word again... inspired??? NAH.... haha.
