I WAS A DANCER ALL ALONG

Just spent about a solid hour lusting over the WEEKDAY website. Either I'm really stupid, or else um... what's the second option. NVM, yeah but I can't seem to find an online shopping part on it, so I assumed that it's just a catalogue and you have to buy the clothes.... but wait... there's only WEEKDAY stores in Sweden... SRSLY... srsly? The Swedes already have Alex Skarsgard, and now they try to offend me this way???

Yeah, well my sister got a $0.07 flight to Stockholm a few months ago to visit her friend, and came back with this top for my birthday. It looks plain, but is really chic with pretty much anything, sssssspecially my biker jacket. The tag on it says "MTWTFSS" which I (verrrry dumbly) took to be a Swedish word, but it's just all the letters from the days (weekdays, gettit?) yep... ooops on that bit.
I also really loved these T-shirts as a weird take on fashion house logos.... thought I recognized them though.. and turned out I did. Carolina from FashionSquad actually modeled them for a lookbook. This is from Weekday's extended collection

Next up were these beauties of an excuse for a shoe. But they kind of looked familiar..... duh! At this stage I'm feeling kind of jealous/bitter/slow. But still... amazing shoes. Minimarket boots.

And these two items are kind of making me want to dress up in a complete khaki ensemble, and I'm not really sure how that makes me feel. Perhaps like a Gap Whore, but I bet wearing them both together would feel nice and complete.

So... anyone from Sweden want to post the entire inventory of the WEEKDAY store, KayThnks.

GOODWILL + CHOCOLATE COOKIES

These are pictures from a week ago when my sister, mum and I went to goodwill, outfit was kinda simple, but it was so I could try everything on, functional, ya know? haha. I was just excited to wear my loafers, haven't worn them since school (they're my school shoes!) but I way prefer wearing them with jeans and stuff, especially my diy-ed topshop jeans. aaaanyways...
Found this fleece cape upstairs that Mum wears in the winter, and I really liked it (I've been looking for a cheaper version of the American Apparel winter cape, it's so expensive! Anyways.. took a few creeper shots, looks a bit like a rape cape when you peek just above your shoulder....

On another note I've been NOMing on cookies all day. Mum literally had to hide the second box of Chips Ahoy cos I just kept coming back for more, mmmmmm so good :s

P.S. I think I cheated.... my friend really wanted me to watch Harper's Island, so I watched three episodes, then just bored so I just watched the last ten minutes of the last episode... OOOOPS

P.P.S. did you know that you can watch full episodes of shows on CBS? amazing.

BRB; HAVING A KSTEW HAIR MOMENT

I've been trying to grow out a middle parting (much to the distaste of pretty much everyone I know) in the attempt to eventually have luscious, long, brown, middle parted hair. So far not looking so great considering my hair is Splitzville, USA. ANYWAY... it's at a really awkward length right now and I've kind of been subconsciously messing with it, resulting in a KSTEW situation, which does not look all that great...
(I apologize for the obligatory pout)

If you've watched any interviews of Kirsten Stewart on youtube, it's pretty much impossible to not pick up on her constant head scratching and changing her parting every ten seconds, and if you know me you've probs seen my imitation of KSTEW like a zzzzzillion times, involving too much blinking and slowly brushing hair back with a claw hand, don't get me wrong, KSTEW can act/blink as much as the next professional teen actress. Behind all the mocking, I secretly love her....

BUTTT She recently cut her hair for the new Runaways movie that's filming. She's playing Joan Jett, and had to get the haircut to match; DO NOT WANT.
gossipteen (<- lol)

aaaand these photos from the recent Comic Con in San Diego, do not do anything for her... I think she came straight from shooting though, or I hope so, it's the only excuse for looking like that...
YO KSTEW!!! YOUR HAIR = DO NOT WANT, PLZ.

METAL PETALS

My sister, mom, and I went to the mall today, hit up the yuush ya know? like American Apparel, Urban Outfitters :P cos we're cool, yeah? I just spent the whole day looking for stuff to pair with all the swag I got yesterday thrifting.

I got a few short t-shirts to wear with my DIYed mom shorts, this floral print one is going to be worn LOTS for the rest of the summer, and in the winter because it fits quite well with my woolen blazer, thank you very much...
blazer, thrifted; shorts, thrifted; floral top, UO; nekclace, Marc by Marc Jacobs

And to add to the excitement, if that's at all possible... I GOT A GLOCKENSPEIL!!!! Mother agreed to getting one, but a few hours later when I was messing around on it, I think she may have regretted her decision a little bit...

There was also this amazing range of t-shirts that were between crop top and proper t-shirt lenghth in Urban Outfitters, called Hometown Heroes, not sure if it's a collab. or just another diffusion line of Urban's, must do some more research into them. The prints were all amazing, I took ages to decide which one I wanted. There was this one that had London written on it but as Lon, Don, and I read em..... phonetically? My sister couldn't stop laughing at that... ooops.
I also got this American Apparel leotard, to be worn underneath high waisted shorts, duh! I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to wear it on it's own.... I love the back though, recently I keep looking for stuff with a bit of show-off back.

I think for the first time in ages I'm actually really excited about my wardrobe, and might actually be, what's the word again... inspired??? NAH.... haha.

IT WAS BEFORE YOUR TIME

Today was just kind of a lazy day on the boat and swimming around. So lazy day = BLEH outfit, whatevs.... I'm kind of obsessed with this shirt at the moment, and tried tucking it in to all my denim shorts but none of them were high waisted enough. So I ended up just wearing this kind of gym shorts I got a few weeks ago, they have a string so i just tied it into a little bow. A bit embarrassing though, the shorts were so short that a little bit of the shirt was poking out :s I just wore it around the house though, so s'all gooooood. anyways, bleh bleh bleh.
shirt, thrifted; shorts, Topshop; necklace, F21
(love the expression on my face BTW, the pout returns! :P)

While my sisters and I were out today, one of my sister's (ladyjadey) sunglasses lens literally popped out while she was wearing them! wie-uuuuurd if you ask me... So being the wierd hoarder I am I asked for them and popped the other one out. To add to my len-less frames collection, (I always wear them with outfits but then chicken out as soon as I leave the house :s)

Altogether Professor Trewlawney-ish if you ask me.. but, who's askin?

NEW EPISODE OF TRUE BLOOD!
SO EXCITED I ACTUALLY MAY SPAZZ OUT RIGHT NOW!!!
(BRB I'M SPAZZING AT THE MO....)
I'm watching it as soon as I'm finished this blog, so stop holding me up, jeesh!

On an ending note, I painted my nails silver, love ittt! My mother does not approve though...
This next pose is partly to pay homage to me and my sisters having a pose off today to vogue, also to pay homage to my silver nail polish (so shiny, oooh)

Anyways this has been a long and boring post, so here's a little party for you...

NEED/WANT/MUST-HAVE

Was just flipping through my backlog of NYLONs, you know... cos I'm just that cooooool, and I came across these beauties in one of their editorials.

I've kind of been lusting after the white AirWares for a while. I've just always been to lazy to actually save up for them, but I think I might actually make the effort to save up for these ones. I love the colour of them, the pink is like a ballet shoe, but it's still tough cos they're doc martens duhhh, bit of an ol' fashion antithesis, you know, inject a bit of irony into my wardrobe (a bit like my socks and sandals look; don't worry, I'll eventually come around to telling that story...)

Other shoes I've been begging for...
London Underground winklepickers
(am I being immature if that word makes me laugh?... nah...)

On another note, my sister reminded me of this song today, made me lol. Also got ridiculously stuck in my head and somehow led me to watching youtube videos of the fifth element (the bit where the blue alien chick sings... ozzley) for a good hour... oooops...

CAPTAIN KURT

Recently I've just been really drawn to dressing like I haven't washed or shopped in years, kind of like rPatz I guess... so though it may look like I'm trying to dress like your typical scenester/grime kid, I'm actually being kind of inspired from the era of my birth, the 90s, LOL. Grunge is kind of taking over my style at the moment (much to the dismay of my family) and I'm kind of digging a Kurt Cobain look...
rockin' the flannel. Quite literally... "rockin" the flannel.

So I got a new lace tank top, and I've been playing around with layering it, so I got this CRAAAAZY idea, why not put it over a sleeved tee? hmmmm... so I tried. It still looked a bit odd, so I tied it at the waist (like, typical train of thought, no?) and I kind of digged its belt effect.
My Mum said I looked like a hooker wearing a lace bra over a t-shirt, but I guess that's kind of it's charm, yeah? right....

It gets better though....

I've also been going through this weird phase of tying my flannel shirts at my waist (if that doesn't scream grunge, I dunno what does...) yeah this is the phase that came directly after my socks and sandals phase, but that's another story...
It drapes really cool, like what I'd imagine a grunge super-hero to wear, armed only with their rock axe (guitar ozzley) and quick tongued wit...

Much to my annoyance though when I was looking for pictures of Kurt Cobain wearing flannel, this obscenity came up
DAMN YOU MK! CAN'T YOU JUST EVER HAVE ONE OFF DAY?! >:(

I think it looks better this way though.

the layering continued to evolve to a leather jacket (why can't it be fall yet, argh!)
and then I think I was finally satisfied with the outfit. yessss.

shirt and jacket, thrifted; I heart NY tee shirt, stall; lace tank top, F21; shorts (cut-off skinnies), Lux from UO; sunglasses, RayBan Wayfarers; lipstick, MAC; moccasins, xhiliration at Target.

P.S. Yes, there was a bowling pin behind me in my room

P.P.S. LOL

think. wink. peace. pout.

It has come to my attention that I have recently (more like ever since pictures have been taken of me) become a victim of an all-too-embarrassing pout. For reference, see pictures from my last blog. I can honestly say I do this subconsciously, I'm pretty sure it just evolved from me trying to smile with my mouth shut because I was super self-conscious of my teeth when I was smaller. The famous case is at a line up for a photo at a party, and my so-called "friends" screams at me to "stop fucking poutingggg!" and my comeback to this is the ever original, "I'M NOT POUTING THAT'S A SMILE..... I think....." But I have finally admitted to my denial, and realized, I am an unapologetic pouter/poser.

But in times of trouble (I need to pick a new default pose now ahhhhhhhh! jokes bruv) I always look to my inspiration for a pout that borderlines on cute, embarassing, mysterious...
who else? MK Olsen, ozzley.

Just as I idolize Zooey Deschanel for possibly the coolest hair ever, I think 'lil MK would have to win in the pouting stakes, how does she pull it off?!

But now, what will me default pose be....
perhaps a faux pas Lyndsay pose..?
nah... the peace sign only belongs to..

A) Models in ID.
B) Hippies from the ACTUAL era of hippies (now grown up either in the form of top businessmen, my father, or both).

or c, my fave..

C) MILEY CYRUS BITCHES!
Who usually attempts both the peace sign and pout simultaneously, still never beats MK though. When I google "Miley Cyrus peace" I almost had too many to chose from, well; 413,000 to be exact...

NiftyThriftyFifty.

Some good mall sales, and a scour in Goodwill have left me very pleased.
shirt thrifted; necklace F21

I just wish it wasn't so hot here, I need an excuse to wear my new American Eagle tie dye scarf. Kind of a simple outfit but you can't see my shoe boots and high wasted skinnies. Just a nice comfortable outfit, yummm. Do excuse shitty webcam avec another shitty background. I can definitely see myself constantly wearing this in the coming Irish winter...
So long, so warm... SO CHEAP.
